Hemp Heart Heaven Tart

This one is a banger...

Hemp pie



  • 1 c hemp seed hearts - NZ Organic 

  • 1 c organic oats

  • 1 c currents 

  • 1/2 c cacao powder

  • 2 tbsp cacao butter melted

  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract

  • 1/8 tsp sea or pink salt


  • 1 cup hemp butter (new/unreleased/secret)

  • 1/3 c maple syrup or light-colored sweetener.  

  • 1/4 c cacao butter melted

  • 1/4 c coconut oil melted

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ tsp sea salt



  1. In a food processor/blender combine all base ingredients (minus the cacao nibs & butter) and blend until you achieve a breadcrumb-like texture. Add in melted cacao butter and process for a few more seconds to form a sticky mixture that holds between your fingers when pressed (if not, add a dash of water).

  2. Press mixture into a cake tin (with the base lined with hemp seed oil or baking paper), pressing the mixture up the sides as well. 


  1. In a saucepan on very low heat mix all ingredients (except hemp butter) until combined. 

  2. Allow mixture to cool until lukewarm before adding hemp butter so we do not cook the hemp butter or you’ll lose some of the anti-inflammatory omega 3 benefits. 

  3. Pour mixture inside the base, then place in the fridge overnight to set (or the freezer for 1 hour).


  1. Once set, remove carefully and place onto a plate and garnish with hemp hearts, flower petals or anything you fancy like chocolate shavings, citrus rind or mint for example - get creative!  

NOTE: Without our new stoneground raw hemp butter - you can make a homemade version by using a food processor to blend a cup or so of hemp hearts - a little hemp oil or coconut oil. Unfortunately, this method will most likely cook the hemp and won't be as smooth.... but it will work.
